    Total Knee Replacement

    Patient shares their recovery journey

I had the left one done six months ago, which has come out really well. I did not quite get full movement straight away, but after about two months I had full movement, and it is about six months now, and it is as good as new.

I had this one done three months ago. No problems with it whatsoever. I have full movement on it.

I have started bowling again, which means I can get down and I can kneel on it, which a lot of people can't. Just to prove it, because nobody believes me, there you go. I have not got full feeling back in that knee, but you could bowl just like that.

In other words, as far as I am concerned, it is brilliant. I can do that. I can do that with that one. In fact, I can do more or less anything you want.

    ACL & MCL Reconstruction

    Back to sport testimonial

About 18 months ago, I ruptured my ACL and my MCL in a skiing accident. My knee was really unstable. I was advised that I would need to have surgery if I ever wanted to play sport again.

Initially, I was pretty nervous at the prospect of having surgery, and finding a surgeon that did double reconstructions wasn't too easy, but eventually I was put in contact with Sam. He was really calm, reassuring, extremely knowledgeable, which made me feel a lot better about the whole prospect of having the surgery.

I had multiple consultations before and after. Sam and his team were always really supportive and available to answer any questions I had throughout the process. The full procedure was explained to me really well, which made me feel even more comfortable.

The day of the surgery itself went really smoothly. I spoke with Sam in the morning, which put me at ease, and I spoke to him again afterwards. The surgery went perfectly as planned. I had regular catch-up with Sam throughout the recovery as well, which was nice.

My knee is now fully functional, and I'm back to exactly how it was. I'm back playing sport, and I've had absolutely no issues at all. I couldn't recommend Sam enough if you need to have knee surgery. The outcome has completely exceeded my expectations. The whole experience with Sam was great, and I'm really grateful to him and his team.
